Congratulations to Georgia Bird for being selected for a EUniWell Thesis Prize award in the area of Individual and Social Well-being. The selection committee thought thought her PhD research investigating emotion regulation as a risk and protective factor for student-athlete mental health was “research is timely, very relevant and innovative”.

Along with a £500 prize, Georgia will receive funding to cover the costs of travel, accommodation and subsistence to attend a research communication workshop hosted by Nantes University from 31st Jan to 3rd Feb, 2023.

Georgia is currently in the third year of her PhD, which is funded by a ESRC 1+3 studentship awarded to her by the Midlands Graduate School ESRC DTP. She is currently recruiting University student-athletes to take part in her next study. To participate, scan the QR code in the poster below or follow the link: https://bham.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/well-being-online.
